medeuronet/KAMCommunications at the ESCRS Winter Meeting, Istanbul

February 2011, Istanbul

The European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons held its 15th Winter Meeting in Istanbul, Turkey on 18-20 February. medeuronet's Medical Communications team, Elizabeth Encinas and Zara Barlas, were present at the conference, where they attended the various free paper sessions and symposia, met with clients and discussed with leading ophthalmologists what the focus would be for ophthalmology in 2011. Highlights of the conference included updates on current treatments for presbyopia, managing cataracts in the diseased eye and the ESCRS' new charitable initiatives in Africa with Oxfam and ORBIS.

KAMCommunications Presents Practice Development Tips at ESCRS Congress 2010

September 2010, Paris

How to evaluate the effectiveness of a marketing plan and understanding the pressures of practicing ophthalmology today were among the topics covered by KAMCommunications' founder, Kris Morrill, in presentations during the recent ESCRS meeting. The presentation on practicing ophthalmology today was delivered to Nidek's international distributor meeting, while the marketing plan presentation was part of the ESCRS/EuroTimes Practice Development Workshop. Kris is one of the project leaders for the EuroTimes program, which was first launched at the 2008 ESCRS meeting in Berlin.

KAMCommunications Works with Calhoun Vision to Produce Local Market Patient Videos

September 2010, Paris

During the ESCRS Congress in Paris, KAMCommunications worked with Calhoun Vision to film 15 surgeons in 6 different languages about the new Light Adjustable Lens. The videos will be used to explain the procedure to patients across Europe and North America, and will include animation, surgeon explanations as well as a step-by-step description of what the patient can expect.

KAMCommunications Provides Support to Bausch + Lomb for a User Meeting and Two Symposia during ESCRS 2010

September 2010, Paris

The KAMCommunications team provided support in organising three events for Bausch + Lomb during the ESCRS Congress, 2010 in Paris. 'Empower your future with TSV: The Stellaris PC Launch Symposium' took place on Friday 3 September, which allowed physicians to share their experiences of TSV with 23G and 25G capability using the Stellaris PC system. The Crystalens User Meeting, which took place on Saturday 4 September, provided ophthalmologists the opportunity to discuss the benefits of the Crystalens intraocular lens, and its application in clinical practice. On Monday 6 September, 'To MICS or not to MICS: Still asking the question?' provided physicians with the means to discuss indications and methods for MICS, and the application of MICS in complicated cases. The symposium concluded with debut screening of cataract surgery in 3D by Prof. Jorge Alió.

KAMCommunications Works with Bausch + Lomb to Produce User Testimonial Videos

September 2010, Paris

With a drop-in studio at ESCRS Congress in Paris, KAMCommunications worked with Bausch + Lomb to interview and film 14 surgeons about their experiences with Crystalens and/or MICS.  The videos will be used to educate surgeons that are not yet using Crystalens and MICS and will also be available for the featured surgeons to share as they wish.  

KAMCommunications Wins New Account with OD-OS, Inc.

August 2010, London

The developer of Navilas navigated retina laser therapy, OD-OS has signed an agreement with KAMCommunications. Working with OD-OS Inc., the US office of OD-OS GmbH, KAMCommunications will provide PR and communications support to the company.

KAMCommunications' Founding Partner Kris Morrill contributed to the EuroTimes Practice Development Workshop in Barcelona during the ESCRS Congress with her presentation "Target Your Market", explaining how generic broad-based advertising needs to be replaced with tactics specifcally targeted towards geographic, demographic or psychographic segmentation.

KAMCommunications organises the Mediphacos Keraring Users Meeting

September 2009, Barcelona

KAMCommunications organised the Mediphacos Keraring Users Meeting, which took place during the ESCRS Congress in Barcelona on 14 September 2009. Moderated by Professor Jorge L Alió, Dr Carlos Vergés and Dr Maria Clara Arbelaez, Keraring users shared their latest experiences with the Keraring intrastromal corneal ring segment, using various techniques and combinations to achieve optimal results.

KAMCommunications organised the Mediphacos Keraring Users Meeting, which took place during the ESCRS Congress in Berlin on 15 September 2008. Moderated by Professor Jorge L Alió, Dr Rafael Barraquer and Dr Efekan Coskunseven, the meeting gave Keraring users the opportunity to share their clinical experiences with intrastromal corneal ring segments and to discuss how to achieve the best results.
