The Team
Kristine A. Morrill Managing Director
Kris is Founder and Managing Director of KAMCommunications. She is also co-founding partner of medeuronet. Prior to KAMCommunications, Kris spent 6.5 years as Head of Communications for Bausch & Lomb, first with the surgical division and then with the EMEA region. During her time there, Kris played an integral role in the global launches of the first system for personalized laser vision correction (Zyoptix™), the first aspherically neutral intraocular lens for cataract surgery (Akreos™ AO) and a next-generation multipurpose contact lens solution. Kris began her career as a journalist and became co-founding editor of Review of Ophthalmology, where she won two national writing awards. Kris brings more than 19 years of experience in the ophthalmology market, and a rich network of relationships with key industry players and leading surgeons. Kris is a member of Ophthalmic Women Leaders. She is a graduate of Minnesota State University, Mankato.
Claudia Orrell Consumer Account Manager
Claudia has over 13 years of experience in consumer communications across a variety of sectors and media, including projects for the Department of Health, the Welsh Development Agency, American Express and Harvey Nichols. Her expertise includes project and account management of print, online and multimedia projects, PR, and writing and editorial work. Most recently she completed a maternity role covering the Head of Editorial at Teachers TV. Prior to that, she was Account Director at Redwood, one of the UK's leading custom publishers, managing a large portfolio of publications for clients such as American Express, Early Learning Centre and Apple. She holds an advanced diploma in Marketing Communications from the CAM Foundation, as well as BA Joint Hons degree in French and German from the University of Bristol.
Louise Veenhuis Medical Writer
Louise is an experienced and versatile optometrist (originally qualified in RSA and qualified and registered in the UK), with an additional qualification in Business Administration Management. Louise has experience practicing in both in private practice as well as high street optometric practices, as well as commercial experience to complement her clinical skills. During her 5 years serving as Professional Services Manager at Bausch + Lomb UK, Louise developed specific experience in contact lenses, refractive surgery and advanced IOL technology. Most recently, Louise served on a elite team as part of the CIBA Vision Practice Academy who provides specialized contact lens, communication and selling skill training. Louise’s specialities includes clinical affairs, clinical study management, and the composition, delivery and presentation of technical training
Lauretta Ihonor Medical Writer
After graduating from University College London with a Medical degree and a BSc in Human Genetics, Lauretta worked as a medical doctor at the Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust in London before branching into the field of medical writing and journalism. Within this arena, she has gained over 3 years of writing experience, working for international publishing and communications companies such as Springer Healthcare and AceMedicine.
Zara Barlas Medical Writer
Zara has been with KAMCommunications for four years as a a medical writer and account manager. She holds a BA in Journalism and Contemporary History from City University and Queen Mary, University of London and an MA in History from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. She has over five years experience in writing, journalism and communication for various media corporations worldwide, in the spheres of politics, business, healthcare and science, including work with the BBC World Service, CNBC and the Wellcome Trust.
Nicolette Brink Marketing Consultant
Nicolette qualified as an Optometrist in 1993 in South Africa with a special interest in complex contact lens fittings. In 1996 she was awarded an Honours Degree in Business Administration from the Stellenbosch University Business School, and completed her MBA in 1997. Soon after, Nicolette relocated to London and joined Bausch & Lomb as a Product Manager in the contact lens marketing department, managing many product launches across Europe. From 2001 until 2009, Nicolette was the European Marketing Manager for Refractive Surgery at B+L EMEA.
Susan Carr Marketing Assistant
As Marketing Assistant at KAMCommunications, Susan provides administrative support and the management of day-to-day projects. Susan has a background in childcare, working with children aged 0-5 years. She is currently in training to become a paedriatic nurse, and also has a diploma in Fashion Design and Technology at the London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London.
